CPCT stands for Computer Proficiency Certification Test. It is conducted by MAPIT (Madhya Pradesh Agency for Promotion of Information Technology), which works under the MP Government.
The main purpose of this exam is to check your basic computer skills and typing speed. Many government departments in Madhya Pradesh now make CPCT certificate mandatory for posts like Data Entry Operator, Assistant Grade-3, Clerk, Steno, Typist, and similar roles.
Think of it as a “Computer Driving License” for MP government jobs. Once you clear it, your certificate is valid for 7 years – that’s a big relief!
Why Should You Give CPCT Exam?
- It opens doors to many MP government vacancies.
- Almost every department now asks for this certificate.
- The exam is not very tough if you prepare well.
- You can appear multiple times (exam happens 4-5 times a year).
- It boosts your confidence in computers and typing.
Many of my friends who cleared it said it helped them in interviews and document verification.
Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Apply?
The eligibility is quite simple:
- You must be a citizen of India.
- Your age should be minimum 18 years on the date of registration.
- You should have passed Higher Secondary (12th) or Polytechnic Diploma after 10th. Even 10th + Polytechnic holders are eligible.
